End of Season Treatment
It is important not to forget caring for your lawn as winter takes hold. TopGrass will provide ongoing moss treatment to the lawn, during any harsh weather conditions so it can transition smoothly into new spring growth. Like the Late Season Treatment, the two-in-one liquid iron and micro-nutrient feed will strengthen and toughen up the lawn during winter months, whilst any new moss growth receives a fresh dose of iron to blacken it and induce dehydration.
How does our End of Season Treatment work?
As growth remains slow at this time of year, the combination of extra Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium and macro-nutrients are not required - these will be introduced in the Season Starter Treatment. Iron is needed to promote the production of chlorophyll, ensuring a vibrant green colour within the grass plant. Dehydrating the moss in the lawn will prevent the plant from retaining moisture and eradicating the conditions in which it needs to thrive.
There are many potential causes for moss to appear in lawns, including mild and wet winter conditions, excessive shade, compacted soils, poorly drained soils, low soil fertility, high or low soil pH, and poor air circulation. Our Winter Treatment takes a dual course of action in providing extra soil fertility through the micro-nutrients, inhibiting moss encroachment with a fast-acting liquid application.
Our End of Season Treatment formula comprises:
- Iron sulphate to green up the grass plant, and to dehydrate and blacken moss
- Micro-nutrients to harden and strengthen the turf, improving the root structure and making it less susceptible to disease
Summary
When? January - February
What? Two-in-one liquid iron and essential micro-nutrient feed.
Why? To dehydrate and blacken new moss growth, harden the grass plant against harsh winter weather, strengthen root structure and improve colour.
